# Unable to Transfer Commercial License Between Completed and New Client Projects

Hello

I am currently managing multiple client-based XR projects; each with different lifecycles some are in development, some are live & others have already completed their campaigns. 😇 I am running into a license management issue that’s becoming increasingly difficult to handle as an agency juggling several workspaces.

One of my client projects has wrapped up successfully & I now want to shift that commercial license to a new client’s project under the same 8thWall account. 🙂However; there seems to be no straightforward option to transfer, pause / reassign the license from the completed project to the new one. As it stands, I would need to purchase a new commercial license; even though one is sitting idle & unused. 🤔

This model works fine for developers managing one / two long-term projects, but for studios or freelancers working with fast-moving, short-cycle campaigns , it becomes expensive & inefficient. Ideally; there should be a way to:

- Reassign a license between workspaces tied to the same account.
- Pause billing for inactive projects.
- Schedule transfers between project licenses without service disruption.

Is there a current feature that supports this kind of flexibility? 🤔 Or does this require direct intervention from support? If not; I’d love to suggest this as a future enhancement something like a license pool or rotation option for verified agencies. Thanks for sharing your experience, and I totally understand how managing multiple short-cycle XR campaigns can get tricky from a licensing perspective.

To clarify, commercial licenses in 8th Wall are tied to billing operations and don’t impact the actual project functionality. There currently isn’t a concept of an “unused” commercial license. Our recommended approach is to set an end date for each commercial license when you purchase it to ensure it doesn’t renew longer than needed. Once a campaign wraps up, a new license would need to be purchased for the next project.
