How far does one have to be someone else for a face filter to work with a back camera? Is there any way to change this distance?
Hello @Aderonke_Adejare
The effectiveness of AR face effects, especially when using a back camera, is primarily dependent on the clarity and visibility of the face rather than the distance between the camera and the subject. There’s no adjustable “distance attribute” that affects how these effects work. Instead, the computer vision technology employed seeks out clear, recognizable facial features to apply the effects accurately.
For optimal tracking and effect application, ensure the subject’s face is well-lit, clear, and centered in the camera’s view. Ample lighting is crucial as it enhances the camera’s ability to detect and track facial features accurately. While adjusting the distance might be necessary, it’s essential to focus on maintaining good visibility of the face. Experiment with positioning the subject to find a spot where the AR effects are applied smoothly, keeping in mind that a centered and illuminated face aids significantly in achieving better detection and tracking by the AR system.
Thank you so much for the quick response! This helps me out a lot
