Finding App Key and adding to a project

Hey there. I don’t know, but for some reason a conceptual project I designed (and I cloned it) is asking for the App Key. It’s a bit odd since I cloned from a perfectly functional project previously designed.

The documentation is not clear: Where in the Console should I find the App Key, and where can I find “External Scripts”?

I never done this such a thing and I built multiple prototypes on 8thWall.

How should I proceed?

Which project did you clone? App keys are only needed if you’re hosting your project off-website.

I just cloned a project that I previously coded. And it’s hosted on 8thWall.

Sounds like you are trying to use 8th Wall in a PlayCanvas project? If so, you’ll need to create a new project and select Type = Self Hosted:

You’ll also need to whitelist the domain where you are using the self-hosted appkey (I advise against whitelisting shared domains such as playcanvas.com or anyone could grab your appkey string and use it)

Thanks @TonyT - on another note! Can you help me with a small thing?
Where can I change the project from Demo Use to Non-Commercial?

Thank you.

If you are on a Pro plan, you can manage project type via the Project Dashboard:

@TonyT I have a client interested in creating an 8thWall account so they create their own AR experiences to promote among their students, as an internal Marketing tool.

Can they do that with a Free or Pro Plan? Since they won’t commercialize it. They will create AR experiences for themselves (internal use only)
