Image Tracking Not Working in Local Exported Project

Hi 8th Wall Support Team,

I’m currently working with an exported 8th Wall project and testing it locally, but I’m facing an issue specifically with Image Tracking.

According to the documentation, image tracking should function in the downloaded/exported code when run locally. However, in my case, image tracking does not work at all in the local environment. The camera starts and the scene loads, but the image target is never detected.

Interestingly, Surface Tracking works perfectly in the same local setup, which suggests the environment and camera permissions are fine. The issue seems isolated to Image Tracking only.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Are there any additional steps or configurations required to make Image Tracking work in a locally hosted exported project?

  2. Is there any limitation related to licenses, project settings, or hosting method that affects image target detection locally?

  3. Could you share a minimal demo project that is confirmed to work with Image Tracking in a local environment, so I can compare with my setup?

This is currently blocking my development, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support.
