Local Transformations? When?

Hey.

Do you guys have any prevision when will we get Local Transformations for stuff in Studio?

This type of things are fundamental for any 3D software and should be in your top list. And should have been already in Studio from day 1.

I’ll make sure this gets bumped up in priority because I agree this is a fundamental feature.

However, because we use three.js as the rendering engine you can use functions like this one from three.js in the meantime.

Hey George.

Please do.

We really need Local transforms, especial for rotations, so we can work in the viewport as a any 3D program.

Wanted to double check here, is this post referring to the transform gizmo (the thing that lets you drag objects around in the viewport)?

I will note that the transform inspector on the right panel is in local space so you can lock in the exact rotation you need for example.

Hey Christoph.

It’s not just the gizmo. it’s the system.

Exemple: Rotate a cube 45º, now try to move it forward in that angle. You can’t. You are locked with movement at the angles 0º - 90º XYZ( World Space). This is true using the gizmo or the right panel.

I hear you. What you’re asking for makes total sense. Thanks for raising this.
