Mocks for online testing

Hi. We’d like to use LambdaTest.com to test our 8th-wall apps on a number of different mobile devices for QA. However, to do this, we would need to add “mocks” for the camera input and so forth, as these phyiscal devices are not in out possession, but online.
I see that for Studio, you have the Simulator - https://www.8thwall.com/docs/studio/getting-started/simulator/ - which has the option of injecting a number of “pre-recorded AR sequences” into the 8th Wall AR Engine.
That makes me think that these mocks have already been created for use within 8th-wall studio. Is there any information about this, and can we utilize these injections on the mobile devices directly, for testing?
Thanks

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum!

The 8th Wall simulator footage is baked into the editor, additionally importing your own footage is something we’re looking into. I’m not quite sure what you mean by:

can we utilize these injections on the mobile devices directly, for testing?

Are you asking if you can pull the videos out of the editor for use in LambdaTest, or something else?

Hi George.

I think we would want to use our own footage. But beyond that, we would like to know how to use it outside of the editor, on real mobile devices.

Do you use other kinds of data with the Studio Simulator, such as IMU data, along with the video? I imagine that this kind of motion data is utilized by 8th-wall SLAM. If so, we would like to know how to inject this fake data / replay data into 8th-wall, outside of Studio.

Ah, that makes more sense.

I’ll ask the team, but as far as I’m aware there’s no built-in way to switch or export the footage that the Simulator uses.
