Is there anyway to lock the ui it to portrait? i dont want the ui to switch to landscape.
this is device level, not browser level. the best you can do in the browser is listen for orientation changes, and if the users happens to rotate to landscape you can overlay UI which tells them to rotate it back to portrait, like in this example:
