3D Space Drawing

Hi, pretty new to this platform. I have some basic fundamental understanding of how everything works i.e. parent and child folders, target image.

This is my idea. You walk in a park and you see a brands logo on a brick wall in a park. The brand logo is a target image for this communal digital graffiti wall where you can draw and doodle. When the target image is found, 8thWall loads a canvas that has a very basic UI with buttons like Draw, Erase, Clear.

Im really interested in this for marketing as im doing this for a project. I tried learning with multiple AIs and tried to get it to work but it seems like their knowledge is based off of older versions.

Im using 8thWall because other platforms like Blippar and Zappar are trash, this platform seems to be the only good one.

Please help, I really wanna bring my concept to life!11!1!1!1!!

Hi, welcome to the forum!

That’s a great concept, and it’s definitely possible to build something like that with 8th Wall. Your best approach would be to create a custom UI with the three tools (Draw, Erase, and Clear) and then write the logic for how those tools interact with the 3D environment.

There’s a VR sample project built with A-Frame that demonstrates similar behavior. You can use A-Frame on 8th Wall by going to your Projects page and scrolling to the bottom, where you’ll see the option to “Build with Legacy Editor.” Then you could combine that with our SLAM tracking (World Effects) to have it anchored to the real world.

If you’d rather use Studio, the approach is conceptually the same, but the code would need to be rebuilt using the 8th Wall ECS API.
