Hello,
I am currently trying to anchor a 3D model using an image target. The idea is to place the image target in the model, then print a QR code and position it accordingly, so the model will be placed correctly. How can a user achieve this?
Thank you in advance
Hi, welcome to the forums!
I suggest watching our getting started with Image Targets video on our YouTube channel. Additionally feel free to clone our Image Target sample project to see how it works.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your response. I watched the video, but I still have a couple of questions.
I would like to scan a QR code and see my model in AR in the correct position, with true scale and the appropriate distance from the origin. How can this be implemented?
In this case, should the anchor point be the geometry origin or the image target?
Also, after transforming the model in 8th Wall Studio and republishing the project, I don’t see any changes.
Thank you.
If having the real-life scale is important, then I recommend cloning our Absolute Scale sample project: (You can use Image Targets in the project)
Additionally, if you aren’t seeing your changes show up it’s likely because you’ve forgotten to land them:
Great, thank you for your help.
Hello,
we need to create project, where we scan QR-Code printed at the wall in reality, after that we could see our model in AR in fixed position with true scale.
Maybe you have some step-by-step manual for this case?
Thank you in advance.
Sounds like this project is what you want to start with:
Is it also possible to see the model when Image Target isn´t in camera object?
And image target should be placed physically, like in the template?
It really depends on your exact Image Target and the features of the image. Many of them work as long as the Image Target is relatively in view, where as some don’t work if even partially obstructed.
