I want to create something like this: Mixed Reality (MR) Business Card | NPN | 8th Wall but I don’t know where to begin. I have tried multiple Image target templates but I always get stuck somewhere. Could someone please help me how to achieve this?
I’d be happy to assist. Could you share more details about where you’re getting stuck? If possible, a video of your attempt would be really helpful. Let me know, and I’ll do my best to assist you further.
First of I wanted to thank you already for wanting to help me with this!
So long story short, first I tried the A-frame image target template but I really tried making it work and after 2 days I deleted that project and wanted to start from the begin. This time I’ve duplicated another template which is the image target video sound I believe. I noticed that the previous template didn’t have any assets and I just couldn’t change the jellyfish as model target even when naming it correctly. Nevermind that, this time I do see the mp4 in the simulator so that’s a start but it’s not how I want it to be. As you can see in the video I want a green screen video coming out of the QR code and I want 3D buttons to be redirected to social media.
I have tried reading guides and youtube video’s but it didn’t get me far because what i’m looking for is pretty specific. I don’t know if it’s normal but I don’t see a placeholder on my business card, I see a black frame which detects it but nothing more. I hope this is clear and if you dont please ask me questions :).
The QR code you’re scanning is on the Edit Image Target page. This QR code allows you test the tracking quality of the image target before you use it in your project - it simply adds a black frame with the name of the image target around the tracking region.
To test your own experience, be sure to save+build, then scan the QR code from the preview button in the code editor.
As a side note, it looks like this image target is not tracking very well. The repeating grid pattern along with dead space and text are likely contributing to this. Also, I do not suggest relying on QR codes themselves as the main marker. I would highly suggest adding some more distinct feature points to the business card so it tracks well using this QR code. For example, add unique symbols throughout the design, reduce the size of the QR code and add an image with unique features instead. Ah okay, thanks for clarifying that the QR on the edit image target page is just to test if it recognizes it or not. I did what you said and good thing is that I see a jelly fish 3D model on the business card so that’s good, now I still need the green screen mp4 and the 3D buttons linked to the business card :).
I can track the image target pretty good. I understand that the design can always be better but I don’t think the company wants to change it. I don’t want the QR to be the main marker, it’s just there to go to the website. I can make it smaller of course but i don’t know what else to add such as symbols or features.
