Apple Vision Pro not working

Saw the announcement that 8thWall works on Apple Vision Pro so decided to jump in to take a look but I’m greeted with this error. Is there any particular or additional steps I need to go through to have it be AVP ready?

For context, this works flawlessly on Quest 3 and mobile. On AVP, I’ve allowed Mic, Camera and Location settings on Safari.

Sadly WebXR on the Apple Vision Pro is not enabled by default. You’ll need to enable it yourself from the Settings app:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Apps and then select Safari
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select Advanced
  4. Scroll again to the bottom and select Feature Flags
  5. Enable the WebXR Device API and WebXR Hand Input Module settings
  6. Done - open Safari and refresh the page

Hi Evan, thanks for the reply. I’ve tried out the above steps from you but it seems like nothing is really working with the XR Overlays or anything for the matter of fact, just the hands actually.

What are you trying to create or accomplish?

Also note that apple vision pro doesn’t allow for pass-through.

We already have an experience up and running for Mobile, Desktop and Quest and we just wanted to port it over to the AVP as well. It’s an AR AI assistant, similar to WOL but built by us.

I guess since pass through doesn’t work, then the experience wouldn’t work. We got our hopes up when it was announced 8thWall would work with AVP. I guess it’s still a limited release.

Hi @JXKE yes, Apple currently restricts pass-through experiences on the web, which means that camera access is not permitted for any web-based applications, not just 8th Wall. This is a limitation we hope will change in the future, although it’s uncertain when or if Apple will revise this policy.
