Hello,
I am using the Niantic studio for VPS tests and since last week, I have a problem when displaying the 3d objects on the real location.
When I am testing on the simulator, it works well. But when I am on the real location, I have a blank screen for 1 second and then the scene appears but the objects don’t show up. Last week, it was because the 3d object was too big (20mb) but now even with a small object it doesn’t work.
The object is a child of the location, I enabled VPS and the camera is in World mode. I tried with private and public locations. I tried with cloning an already existing studio VPS project and with creating an empty studio project. This is not a public project so I only click on Build (not Land nor Publish) after I update the project.
My phone is an iphone XS and runs on iOS 18.3.1.
What could be the issue here? I couldn’t find a similar problem in the forum.
Thank you for your help.
Hi, welcome to the forums!
I’d be happy to take a look. Can you land your changes and share your project with the support
workspace?
Thank you, I’ve just sent the invite.
Hi,
After reviewing the project and the location details I’m not able to find any issues with either. Could you do the following so we can figure out what’s causing the issue?
- Provide a video of the issue
- Open the Geospatial Browser in Scaniverse by clicking the map icon from the homepage
- Select the Location, then Test VPS
- Take a screen recording
I also recommend attempting to localize from different angles and distances from the location.
Hi,
Thank you for your help, I tested the VPS with scaniverse on the location and after the test was successful I tried my project again and it worked! I tested on different angles and distances and it just takes a few seconds for the 3d objects to show (still after a blank screen). I don’t really know what went wrong on my previous attempts.
I then duplicated the project to test on another public location where it worked and a private location (VPS status activated) where the problem still persists. The 3d objets appear on the private location for a project where I use the cloud editor instead of the studio though.
The problem is solved for the project on the public location, thank you, but what could prevent the objects to show on a private location with studio?
