I printed a QR code on a whole batch of flyers and now the link is showing as a 404. What happened? The event is in 16 hours. Need urgent assistance.

Itβs important to always use the QR code from the Project Dashboard. If your project has a public showcase page, the Launch QR Code is a temporary link that should not be printed.
If on a Starter plan, you will need to upgrade to enable Direct Linking, rather than using temporary QR code from your showcase page.
Hi Christoph,
I am having a similar problem with the QR codes being generated. I am on a Starter Plan, but just want to share the experience with collaborators using password protected Staging, not publishing. When I try to use the QR code generated I get this
Can I do this on the Starter plan? Hopefully that is a yes
Ben
Have you made sure to LAND + PUBLISH your changes?
Please reference this video at 7:30
If you donβt land changes then there will be not experience to share. Also keep in mind that starter plans do not have Direct URL access (you will be sent to a βlaunchβ page and have to click the link to open experience) if you want direct URL access you will need to upgrade to PLUS or PRO.

Yes, I have done this. I briefly set the project as public and it works fine. Then trying to republish as Staging and it doesnβt work again says the experience is unavailable
I just tested the Staging URL based on your screenshot and everything appears to be published there.
The QR code on the project dashboard will only take you to the Public URL. We donβt automatically generate a QR code for staging, but you can certainly generate one yourself.
You can use one of the many QR code generation sites out there, or Chrome can even do this for you:
- Visit your staging URL (8W Staging Log In) in this example
- Click the ββ¦β menu in Chrome β Save and Share β Generate QR code
- From there you can copy or download the Chrome generated QR code for the URL of whatever page you are on.

Clarity of Designated QR Codes: This is a real issue for those of us not understanding which QR Code is the real one at 8th Wall. Identifying the correct QR code associated with each project is essential to prevent confusion and ensure seamless user access to AR content. My art opening for Care Bears was a mess because I printed the wrong code and no one could access the AR experience opening night. I hope this makes sense? Maybe just a USE THIS in red? could help?
Hi @Angie_Jones,
The QR code on the Project Dashboard page is static and will never change. Itβs the one you should always use. Please see the following section in our docs: QR 8Code | 8th Wall
Yep, Christoph mentioned that at the beginning of this post. I get that the QR Code location remains constant now. However, having multiple places to access the QR Code can be confusing. Iβm just trying to offer assistance with something that seems straightforward and is also being discussed frequently on Slack.
