Shadows in Studio are very ugly! How to make them look better?

Hey there,

So, shadows of Directional Light are very ugly and pixelated. Completely unusable.
Shadows of Point Light are too sharp and the edge is jagged.
The Spot Light, oh, it doesn’t exist.

I looked at the manual and it says there is control for “ShadowRadius”, “shadowBlurSamples”, “shadowMapSizeheigh” and “shadowMapSizeWidth” but if there is no checkbox or attribute box in the light properties, how I’m supposed to change the values.

As an Artist, I shouldn’t have to dig in code , because Studio has an Editor with windows to work with.

Please just add this type of controls to the User Interface so “no code people” can adjust at will.

This is true for a lot of other stuff in Studio.
Thanks you and I hope to see this stuff added in the next release. Sooner than later.

Thanks for bringing this up! We’re actively working to enhance the quality of lighting and shadows in Studio projects, as well as enabling more customization options for shadows overall.

Thank you for the reply.

This are great news for Studio updates.

Right now my solution is to had a fake “blob shadow” under my characters, not the most realistic but it works to some degree.
