Absolutely devastating to hear about the impending loss of the 8th Wall platform, and my heart goes out to everyone on the team impacted by this sudden cruddy situation. The approachability of the 8th Wall approach to AR was what drew me in, but the access to the tools and features using code really got me keen to improve my skills with logic. Very sad to see the end of all this. :weary_face:

I wonder if we can look forward to having the 8th wall splash page removed for the projects remaining after the Feb 2026 cut-off? Seems like it would be a pretty nice way to retire the projects, especially since the ‘make games at 8th wall’ link is no longer relevant?

In any case, all the best to all of the great folks caught up in this poop-storm, and fingers crossed the amazing work behind 8th wall is freed to build fun new projects in the open source wilds.

Hi - this is something that is being considered. At this time, the only information we can share is what has been shared in the company announcement. We will have updates soon that will detail more of our plans so stay tuned.

For clarity, what’s the definiton of a hosted project? If it’s published on 8thwall and accessible via 8thwall.app subdomain, will it continue to function until 2027?

is self hosting still an option during this period?
