Can I use an object that isn’t a QR code to direct users to the project link? I want to scan a crystal figure, and when it’s scanned, it should take the user to the project. Is there a way to do that?

As far as I’m aware a standard Phone camera will only detect a QR code. Maybe you could do a custom NFC tag?
