Hi,

I’m working on a project where we’d like users to be able to see a building that no longer exists, using AR. My hope is to use your VPS system to capture a focal point, and then call in a lifesize 3d model of the old building. Is this possible with 8th Wall? Obviously the 3D model will be large!!

Hi, welcome to the forum!

If you have a model of the building have you tried parenting it to the VPS location in Studio? VPS is typically restricted to about a 10 meter radius scale.

I’ve been experimenting with your ‘A-Frame VPS Template’, after watching your ‘Cre8te VPS for Web’ video on Youtube.

Is Studio something different? And would it allow me to place 3D objects further away than 10 meters from the vps location?

The underlying XR engine is the same, and Studio uses the same VPS tech as editor. So you’re still capped at about 10 meters. I’d recommend bringing this up on the Scaniverse forum as well so they are aware this is something you want.
