Architecture overlay on big objects like Bridges and buildings

I essentially want to overlay AR elements over top existing large structures.

Do you have any examples of 8th wall achieving this? I believe I would be too far away for Lightship to be effective. Should I think through a marker based approach?

You can achieve AR effects on large structures using Lightship VPS. This would require users to localize at specific locations/Wayspots and that you offset AR content from those locations to-scale in 3D modeling software. Information of Lightship VPS here: 8th Wall.
