Change face tatoo texture--need pro?

Hi-I’m new but getting into the platform. I simply want to change the tatoo in the face afffects demo. For some reason I don’t have access to change the material of the face mesh. Is this only a pro feature? The explanation videos show that the face mesh texture is just a drop down. I do not have that option.

Hi!

You don’t need Pro to do that. :slight_smile: Here are the steps:

  1. Upload your new image to the asset browser.
  2. Select the Face Mesh in the hierarchy.
  3. Select the texture property and change it to your new texture.

I’ve uploaded a video of me doing it in-case you might have missed a step.

Thanks for the video. This is perfectly understood. So I think I found the bug. I always have my preview window open to see the real time changes. Try you demo with the preview window open. See if you can reproduce it like I show in the attached screen shot. I am good for now, but would recommend filing a bug for this.

From your screenshot it looks like the face mesh component has become invalid. Can you try deleting the face mesh and seeing if the bug persists? You can tell because there’s the white box with the JSON of the component schema. It should look like this:

Also do you have Live Sync on?

It’s all about the live preview. See video of template project. The texture panel is visible until I click on the live preview. Please see if you can reproduce.

Yes, if you delete the face mesh, the inspector goes away as you would expect. If there is no face mesh then of course there is no way to view the texture of said face mesh. The bug doesn’t go away, you just are changing the use case to not involve the face mesh at all.

Delete and re-add the face mesh as I did in the video.
