GA4 Available Metrics from 8th Wall

Hi there,

I saw in this help article (Advanced Analytics | 8th Wall) that we can implement GTM to have tracking in GA4.

I wanted to confirm if implement GA4 on to 8th wall that it’ll pass back data such as: Unique Users, Sessions Length, Engagement Rates, Device and Browser data.

Thanks!

Hi @Rain_Olegario-Nebel I can confirm that this will certainly work. I’ve used GA4 in several projects I’ve made over the years and it even allows for custom events and funnels, works really, really well.

Hope this helps!

Joao

@Joao_Pratas That’s awesome to hear!

In your experience, do you know if we’re able to track shares specifically? Or able to track demo data on the people that use the lens?

We’re curious on the extent that we can track custom events & funnels.

Yes, you can track shares. Now, how you want to track them is a different story. You can target people that click the share button from the photo camera, or you can track users who actually share it with someone, however for the latter I think you’ll need to slightly modify the XRExtras library to support this.

Custom events can be tracked easily with some custom code. the snippet you get from GTM itself should have a sample of a function that they use to push the events through to GA, and this should be the function you call to send the events over (this is only for events that are not already set by GTM triggers and actions).

Can you clarify what you mean by demo data above?

@Joao_Pratas that’s awesome that it can track those! Will take a look into then and see what adjustments we’ll need to make for it to work

For clarity: demographic data like age, gender, city/region locataions

for that demo data, if you look at the data inside of GA it should tell you roughly what those are :slight_smile:
