Issue with Publishing on 8th Wall: Old Version is Shown Instead of Updates

Hello everyone,

I am using the paid monthly version of 8th Wall, and I have made updates to my project (for example, in the head.html and body.html files). In the preview, everything works as expected and the experience runs with the latest modifications.

However, when I publish the project (using “Push to Stream” or the “Publish” option), the published version appears to show only the original version instead of my new updates.

I have tried:

  • Clearing the browser cache and testing in incognito mode.
  • Confirming that my modified files have been saved correctly.
  • Ensuring that the asset paths are correct and that there are no errors in the console.
  • Making sure to click “Save” and “Publish” in the 8th Wall portal.

Despite all these efforts, I still see the old version when I access the published URL rather than the updated one.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or could advise what might be causing this?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Hi, welcome to the forums!

Seems like you’ve forgotten to land your changes.

Can you confirm that the changes have been landed?

I don’t know how to land it; help me, because here in the editor it appears changed and in the preview as well, but when publishing it appears as the original version from which I cloned it. Please help.

You just need to click the Land button here and enter a commit message.

The indicated option does not appear; there might be another problem. Please help.

“Thank you very much, it worked! I’m really new at using 8th Wall.”

Wise man, you know I published it, but I just noticed that the audio (mp3) I added doesn’t play when it’s published. Any solutions?"

Likely you’re running into the Chrome Autoplay rules: Autoplay policy in Chrome  |  Blog  |  Chrome for Developers

My advice is to capture some user input before beginning the audio:

  • The user has interacted with the domain (click, tap, etc.).
