Migrating from Cloud Editor to Studio

Hey 8th Wall team/community, my team is going to start migrating from the Cloud Editor to the Studio, because we have noticed subtle hints that this is where 8th wall as a product seems like its heading for, which is great.

The issue I seem to have run into is switching from a coding editor to a visual editor. Since we have primarily worked with the cloud editor, most of our work has been centered around A-Frame, A-Frame components, JavaScript, coding, etc. There is a project that we have from the cloud editor that I’m trying to translate to Studio. Still, I’m having a hard time understanding the new language (ecs) that the studio supports, and if it’s even possible to have a one-to-one translation from the Cloud Editor to Studio. If there are any resources, example projects, or videos that could help explain what Studio has to offer (in terms of the built-in code editor), please let me know

I’ll definitely look into creating a migration guide. There isn’t any special guidance I can give however as each project is so unique and requires different migration steps. The best tip I can give is to take a look at our sample projects and see how they work and how you’d build your project like them.
