Studio: AR is not starting, Error: XR8.CloudStudioThree.js.updateSceneConfig is not a function

Hello,

(1) I started working on an AR game using the Studio, and at some point today, I encountered this error. Initially, I thought I had done something wrong, but I created a new project by cloning the “Studio: Empty Project” template. I then tried to run the app on my phone with just a box in my WebAR scene, but I still received the exact same error.

The AR is not starting, and the background is completely white.

If I change the camera type from “AR” to “3D only” I don’t have this problem.

Is this a known issue?

Thank you

Edit:

(2) I’m not sure if I made a mistake or if it’s a bug, but while testing the issue in (1), I cloned the project to check if the error persisted. It did. I then removed all objects except the lights and camera (set to AR) and added a simple box, but the same error occurred on my phone. When I returned to my original project, all elements were removed. I fixed it by cloning the main project again, and the elements reappeared.

Hi! I see the same problem today. I also trying to cloning my project and create new but nothing. I think it is problem of 8thwall, because if you will try open one of their project with camera settings (https://8thwall.8thwall.app/world-effects/) you will see the same problem with white bg

Yeah I’m seeing this issue as well. Because of it, I can’t test or show my experiences. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I contacted the support through Studio, and a fix will be available soon.

In the meantime, you can use the camera in 3D-only mode, which may help as an alternative.

I am also having the same error problem as you.

@Alex_Di_Guida @Svitlana_Lisovs_ka @Leonard_Wedderburn thank you for the report - the team pushed a fix for the issue yesterday (2024-September-12, v27.0.4.427).

@amitri can you confirm which engine version is being output in the console in the project you’re still seeing the issue on?
