Hi! I am complete noob and need help! The app I was using is shutting down so I was recommended to use 8th wall. But it’s way more complex than the app I was using.
I need to prepare AR exhibition showing students art works. Exhibition should be visible on the school location (same exhibition in few different schools): visitor come to school, walk around and explore exhibits with their phone.
Since my deadline is soon, I would very much appreciate guidance on is this possible, which tutorials to explore, how to see created work on needed location.
I explored yesterday but it only shows me empty black web page after I publish and wanted to see the result. I obviously missed something… help
Hi, welcome to the forums!
This would be a great use-case for our VPS solution.
With Niantic’s Visual Positioning System (VPS), developers can create rich Location AR experiences that overlay virtual content on the physical world. WebAR content can be anchored to real-world locations, enabling virtual objects to interact with their physical surroundings. This makes the AR experience feel more personal, meaningful, and immersive, and gives users new reasons to explore the world around them.
I’d also encourage you to take a look at our VPS sample project to see more about how it works:
Additionally, if you’re not seeing your changes reflected on the published experience make sure to follow these steps:
Thank you for your help!
If I undersrood the VPS concept right, I cannot add virtual experience to location that is not scanned? Therefor, I would not be able to add artwork to the location I am not able to visit (and scann it).
Is there an option that would allow me to put my entity on specific gps coordinates without need to visit the location?
That’s correct, however you could combine World Effects with Geo-fencing to create this. It’s not the same as it would require the user to either manually place the object or to have them stand where the horizontal surface could be detected such as the floor.
