How can we achieve a “good” rating for a VPS location? All of our submitted public locations have a Fair rating, despite contributing dozens of scans across half a year.
The locations are:
“Station 1: Fluss und Aue” 47.939758999999995, 12.937441
“Station 2 - Fluss und Mensch” 47.944782, 12.936496
“Station 3: Schifferleben” 47.944782, 12.936496
“Station 4: Nocken und Stromschnellen” 47.944399, 12.934992999999999
“Station 5: Plätten und Salzhandel” 47.942125, 12.93393
“Station 6: Stadt und Hochwasser” 47.941522, 12.935594
Hi! The VPS rating isn’t the best to determine the ability to localize. The way it calculates the rating is quite complex and goes beyond number of scans / coverage of the area. It also takes in account number of repeated features, the complexity of the geometry, etc. I’d also recommend reaching out on the Scaniverse forums if you want to learn more.
