We’re currently developing an app that relies on activating multiple VPS locations through Lightship. One of our test locations is at Kipselis 77, Athina 113 61, Greece (Coordinates: 38.000963, 23.740231), which we’ve created successfully via the Geospatial Browser.
However, we’ve encountered inconsistent behavior during the scanning process across different mobile devices:
- On an iPhone 14 Pro, the scanning process appears to complete normally, but the scans do not appear in the Scan Progress panel.
- On an iPhone 15, the scans register and appear correctly.
- On a Samsung A52s, the scans also appear, but the quality is noticeably lower.
We’ve double-checked that the iPhone 14 Pro is updated and meets all requirements, so we’re wondering:
- Is there a known issue or limitation with VPS scans not registering on the iPhone 14 Pro?
- Could this be related to the LiDAR system or something else device-specific?
- Is there a recommended device list or best practice to ensure scan reliability and consistency?
We plan to activate 30+ VPS locations around Athens, which will require more than 300 high-quality scans, so resolving this issue is quite critical to our workflow.
I’ve attached screenshots from the device showing the scan process we’re following, in case that helps identify what might be going wrong.
