When using the scaniverse app, there is no way of selecting which of my google accounts to use. It just uses whatever one it wants… even deleting the account in the app and re-attempting it doesn’t allow me to select one of the multitude of accounts I have on my device.
When in the application (in whatever account it’s selected), I am trying to activate developer mode via the QR code on the VPS creation page but no QR code works… I’ve regenerated it more than 10 times now per the instructions but to no avail. It just gives me a 404 page error meaning that the URL that is being generated with the token is broken.
It will then ask you which google account
The downside here is that I need to do the EXACT process in order to log out and into another account… like a personal and a professional account.
Android. Loads up in Chrome but the scaniverse URL is a 404… to me this sounds like either the redirect of scaniverse intent properties have not been properly set or the site changed and the route is no longer valid for the QR code generator.
Yes, I have reinstalled the app to confirm any local intent filter properties have been set since there is no way to properly log out of the application without removing it from the phone…
Scaniverse for Niantic Developers is available in Beta on iOS devices. Android support is coming soon. Wayfarer can be used to scan VPS Locations on Android devices. We are making updates to our documentation to make this more clear.
As for the sign in / sign out issue, I have passed your feedback along and the team is investigating.
I have wayfarer and have used it to generate a few scans both private and a couple public ones for a location I have plans for in the future but when I try to use Wayfarer, none of the previous scans show up in the logbook. The scans show up online and I can use them in my 8th wall account but the app looks less than half baked.
This does sound like the intended behavior of the logbook - only scans that have not been uploaded will be displayed there. I’ve passed along your feedback!
Between Scaniverse being broken for Android, Wayfarer’s very limiting capabilities… what is the best solution then for trying to contribute to the communities collection of waypoints as well as build out a reliable collection of ones’ own?
It seems like there has been a lot of purchasing and merging of companies under Niantic but we’re at a point where things that were supposed to work together are not quite there yet… I know your engineers are pushing for Studio right now and not likely focusing on other things but know that as a developer, I’m seeing all these processes that are not quite working and it is pretty off-putting. I want to love you guys… I really do.
